"As we drove home my
daughter (8) started
singing a little song that
lasted about an hour.
She sang about her new
empowered self and all
the choices she now has
and all the answers she
could say to people - like
when someone asks me
to play and I don't want
to, I just say 'I don't want
to play right now' or 'I
don't want to talk right
now.' It was beautiful and
I know she got what she
needed.
I watched my other
daughter (6), who has
Cerebral Palsy improve
in her ability to walk and
talk. She stopped
complaining about the
pain in her knees" ~

Raksha’s Story
An excerpt taken from ‘The Journey for Kids’ written by Brandon Bays
“There was one very dramatic case of a five-year-old girl, Raksha, who lived in a village
outside Durban in South Africa. Because of the wonderful warm climate there year
round, most kids in her neighborhood spent lots of time outdoors, playing together in
the grass with their pets and leading a very natural outdoorsy life. Unfortunately, there
was no question of Raksha being able to play outside in the glorious South African
sunshine. She was severely allergic to so many things that her mother couldn't even
keep track of them all: cats, dogs, chickens, grass, pollen, dust, mites, chocolate, soya,
peanuts, wheat - the list was endless. Janaki lamented that it seemed as if Raksha
was allergic to the whole world - to life itself. She had been diagnosed with chronic
and acute asthma, and told that she would have to be on medication for the whole of
her life. She was underweight, had a poor appetite, and had become socially fearful
and painfully shy.
At school one day, Raksha had an allergic attack so acute that she had an apoplectic fit
and was rushed into hospital. Janaki panicked when she received the call from the
emergency room. She rushed straight to the hospital to be with her daughter. The
doctors were helpful but adamant: they had stabilized Raksha's condition, but there
was no choice - she had to be put on strong ongoing medication immediately. When
Janaki saw how many drugs they were suggesting, her heart sank. She just couldn't
drug up her little girl with so much medication. There had to be another way.
Janaki had read 'The Journey' and had successfully cleared her own adult acne using
the physical journey process so she thought, 'What have I got to lose? Let me give it a
try with Raksha.'
The process worked. Here is a small section of a letter Brandon received from Janaki.
'I really do not know whether this letter will do justice to all that I have to say... for the
thanks in my heart and soul and the love brimming over! My daughter Raksha is a
healthy normal child who is free from asthma and all the steroids she would have been
on. Her allergies are gone! She is a bouncing bundle of health and vitality.
The stress of parents who have an ill child is debilitating as you feel as if the gods have
turned their backs on you and you have no where to go. This is what both my husband
and I felt when Raksha fell ill. Now, almost three years later, she is hale and hearty.
The Journey cleared poignant issues and freed her from illness. No medication, no
allergies, no hospitals and doctors... It feels really good.
God never forsook us... He guided us to The Journey...gently and with love.'
The Journey in South African Schools
A simple pilot program in one classroom in one school in South Africa has begun a
revolution in teaching and caring for children in South Africa. The results have been
astounding. Read the many stories of success and healing in some of the poorest
areas of South Africa on the Journey website at www.thejourney.com. You might start
with a story entitled Journey in the Classroom.

Kids are walking, breathing examples of the joy of life. They are still
in touch with that divine radiant essence inside - their own soul. They
have not yet fully covered up their inherent brilliance with masks and
protective walls. They are still quick to speak their mind and are
ready to forgive easily. Their issues aren't buried as deeply and they
aren't yet afraid to express their feelings.
So, kids can enjoy the Kids Journey just like a magical adventure.
Kids breeze through this kid-friendly version of the Journey similar to
the adult physical journey... and they do it in about a quarter of the
time! The results are profound and then the kids teach their friends.
Kids all over the world have benefited from the Kids Journey process.
Kid's Sessions
Kids enjoy their own personalized sessions. We usually work on the
floor and I "meet them" where they are - if they want to play during the
sessions - we play - I've worked with one child who bounced on my
mini-tramp throughout the session. Other children may sit more
quietly through the session.
Children are encouraged to bring a favorite toy if they'd like. I'll often
set up a colorful blanket on the floor and pull out a couple of stuffed
animals for them. We'll have crayons and drawing paper too.
Kids Journey's are short - usually 30 minutes or so. We will also
often draw and talk before and after the process. Children always
have a mentor on their journeys just like adults, but kid's mentors are
usually superheros or wizards! In the same way that adults do,
children discover the cell memory that is driving their painful or sad
emotions, unsupportive behaviors, or dis-ease. The process then
encourages the child to express emotions and words that need to be
said. This usually ends with "I'm sorry... It's okay", leaving the child in
a simple state of forgiveness and resolution.
Parents are asked to wait in an adjoining room and sometimes kids
share their journeys with their parents and sometimes they chose to
keep them private. It is important for the child to be able to make this
choice on their own and for parents to respect their decision.
